Where To Eat In Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara is a place that never fails to give me the ultimate California coast vibes that I crave. It has surf, is surrounded by stunning mountains and has a university and town with so much to offer, including food selection! We’re always adding to this list of places to eat in Santa Barbara, but these are a few that we’ve visited a few times and love to go back to whenever we’re there.
Best Places To Eat In Santa Barbara:
Dawn Patrol, 324 State St.
This was the first place we found in Santa Barbara and is a local favourite. Located close to Stearns Wharf and West Beach, Dawn Patrol is a casual restaurant that makes great food and organic coffee! That’s why we recommend stopping here for breakfast or brunch so you can try a build-your-own hash and Madagascar vanilla bean latte.
They also have salads or burgers and a juice bar for lunch or to refuel between surf or SUP sessions!
Affordable, healthy, casual, good location
Savoy Café & Deli, 24 W Figueroa St.
Savoy café & deli is a really great place to grab some food for a picnic on the beach or at one of the parks in Santa Barbara! They have fresh sandwiches, soups, snack options, salads and pastries. If you appreciate locally grown foods, then this is somewhere you should check out.
And if you don’t want to take your food to go, they have a few tables indoors and some more outdoor seating too.
This is another great coffee spot, especially if you like cold brews. They also have a wine selection in the back.
Organic, convenient, vegan-friendly
Rusty’s Pizza, 111 State St.
Rusty’s is a chain restaurant that is family-friendly and great for a quick & easy dinner option. Both times that we’ve gone here, our pizzas and garlic bread were well-made and hot! It’s not the fanciest pizza, but it does the trick especially after some California wine or visiting a brewery in the Funk Zone. I also love how they have 6” personalised pizza - delicious and affordable for when you’re needing some pizza in your life.
Great location, casual, affordable
Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co., 137 Anacapa St. F
We actually went here to try out Flying Embers kombucha, but ended up enjoying the beer a lot! Located in the Funk Zone of Santa Barbara, this brewery has great drinks and also some food available (food needs to be purchased during the lockdown in 2020).
We got two flights, one of the Flying Embers kombucha and the other with Figueroa beers. Alongside that, we had some great chips and guac that were a great addition, tasty and fresh!
If you like to go to the places when it’s quieter or want an afternoon drink, they open at 12pm on the weekends and 3pm on weekdays.
Longboard’s Grill, 210 Stearns Wharf
If you want to eat or drink somewhere with a great view in Santa Barbara, then this bar & grill on Stearns Wharf is a great option. There is outdoor patio dining that looks out onto the blue waters and Santa Barbara Harbour and has a good atmosphere!
We tried the Santa Barbara Paloma cocktail from here and really enjoyed it for a quick refreshment whilst walking along the pier.
I hope you found this list helpful, if you did make sure to save it to your California Travel board on Pinterest!
