Copa Vida

Copa Vida coffee is located in the East Village right next door to Petco Park baseball stadium which is home to the San Diego Padres. We love getting a classic cappuccino from here or trying their seasonal drink options! This is one of our favourite coffee shops in San Diego, but is more expensive than others on this list.

Coffee & Tea Collective

Located just down the street from Copa Vida is Coffee & Tea Collective. They make great coffee and we love to stop here on our morning walks down to the marina! Of course if you’re reading this list and don’t like coffee, this would be a good place to go for tea as well. The menu is somewhat limited, but they make what they serve well.

Modern Times Coffee

Located inside the Invigatorium Cafe, this is a fun place to stop by for coffee any time of day. It has great decor (see below) and menu options and it was the first place that we ever tried an espresso tonic! If you’re looking for a cute coffee shop in San Diego where you can get coffee & a good breakfast, this would be our pick.

Bird Rock Coffee Roasters

Bird Rock Coffee is in a great location near the waterfront and Little Italy. This would be a great place to work at or meet friends or you can take your coffee and walk to the waterfront park nearby. The coffee was really good here and they seem to take a lot of care in good sourcing practices for their coffee beans!

Portal Coffee is located nearby Bird Rock and is another great option to try! When you go inside, you can order your coffee on a tablet and they’ll call your name when the order is ready. There was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere here and I think it’s a great spot to meet friends or bring your laptop to work at. This is a cute coffee shop in San Diego with affordable & quality coffee.

Achilles Coffee Roasters

We got coffee and breakfast when we visited this Achilles Coffee and enjoyed both! If you order ahead, they will most likely wait to make the coffees until you get there. If you enjoy pour-over coffee, this is a great choice with lots of options from light to dark roasts to try. There is also plenty of outdoor seating here.

Seven Seas Roasting Co.

We found this San Diego gem at the farmer’s market in Little Italy where Seven Seas Roasting have their truck or stall (Saturdays). We recommend the honey cinnamon latte which seems to be staple at most coffee shops in San Diego and it’s so good! Their flagship cafe & roaster is located in South Park.
